Dr. Svebor Sečak, associate professor is the President of the Jury of the European Ballet Grand Prix Vienna Competition.
The Competition will take place at the MuTH Theatre in Vienna between February 7 and 10, 2023.
Dr Svebor Sečak held a lecture on November 18, 2022 on the topic Revisiting ballet Hamlet in the age of digimodernism at the Colloquium Art meets Science and Science meets Art of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts of which he is a regular member since March 2022.
Dr. Svebor Sečak, Associate Professor has been elected as ordinary member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Academia Scientiarium et Artium Europaea.
The Dean of the AMEU Dance Academy Dr. Svebor Sečak, Associate Professor, attended the National professional meeting for teachers of ballet and contemporary dance in Zagreb where he gave a presentation on the Implementation of the Vaganova technique in a safe manner.
The dance section of the 10th Conference It’s About People titled Recent experiences are shaping our future; potentials of dance as art, science, education and mediation in the post-pandemic period was held successfully on March 18, 2022. There were two distinguished keynote speakers from the Royal Academy of Dance in London, dr. Michelle Groves and dr. Kathrina Farrugia-Kriel and guest speaker Mr. Jan Linkens from the Royal Conservatory in the Hague. After the presentations of keynote speakers and the panel discussion there was a presentation of Journal for the Humanities and Social Sciences Monitor. Dr. Sečak was invited to be one of the co-editors of this latest edition which is dedicated to contemporary dance and video and humanities in the digital age. The presentations of papers on the topic of dance and the digital era; dance mediation and psychological and educational aspects in dance followed. Moderators of the dance section were Dr. Sečak, dean and associate professor and Rosana Hribar, assistant professor and head of the Contemporary Dance Department of the Alma Mater Europaea Dance Academy.
Dr. Svebor Sečak, together with Luka Trebežnik, is the editor of the Journal Monitor ISH XXIII-1- Journal for the Humanities and Social Sciences. As the organizer and artistic leader of the International Ballet Competition Slavenska, Dr. Svebor Sečak directed the Gala Concert Slavenska Prix that was held on July 3, 2021 at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.
For the third time, the Alma Mater Europaea Dance Academy had its own dance section within the Conference All About People. In relation to the COVID-19 situation and life in physical isolation, we have decided to address the post-postmodern paradigm of digimodernism and named our section Dance and Dance Education in a Digital Environment: All the World’s a Stage, referring to Shakespeare`s famous saying, since dance and dance education have moved from ordinary dance venues to a digital environment.
We hosted three distinguished keynote speakers Tarek Assam, Darrel Toulon and Dr. Risima Risimkin who discussed dance and dance education in the new circumstances and after them other participants presented their papers.
