First place at the International Dance Competition Hellas

Anamarija Marković, soloist of the Ballet of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb won the first place at the International Dance Competition Hellas in Athens, Greece in the category of professional ballet dancers. She was coached by the national principal and pedagogue of the Zagreb Ballet Svebor Sečak, who was also granted by the international jury – Andras Lukacs, Anastasia Peshenkova, Katarina Pavlaki and Silvia Tzankova an Honuor certificate for his pedagogical work. Anamarija Marković also danced at the Gala Concert at the Hellenic Cosmos Centre on July 6, 2019.

The participation of Anamarija Markovic in the competition was organised by the Croatian Society of Professional Ballet Artists and was financed by the Croatian Ministry of Culture.

Until now, Anamarija Marković won a gold medal at the International Ballet Competition Slavenska 2016 and a special award at the Vaganova Prix 2016 in St. Petersburg, Russia.

     

Masterclass in Zagreb Ballet

The President of the Croatian Society of Professional Ballet Artists, Dr. Svebor Sečak as part of the manifestation Days of Moscow in Zagreb held a masterclass with selected dancers of the Zagreb Ballet before prominent guests led by the renowned ballet artist Andris Liepa who expressed great pleasure with what he has seen. He gave several corrections to the dancers and held a lecture on ballet Firebird (Stravinsky – Fokin) after which he showed this movie recorded in 1993 with Liepa in the leading mail role.

      

53rd World Congress on Dance Research, Nassau, Bahamas

Svebor Sečak participated at the 53rd World Congress on Dance Research organised by CID UNESCO from April 24 to 29, 2019 in Nassau, Bahamas. He gave a presentation titled: An Anthropological View of Ballet Art.

                               

7th Scientific Conference in Maribor, Slovenia – March 15 & 16, 2019

Svebor Sečak was the reviewer and moderator of the Dance section of the 7th International Scientific Conference All About People: Future Fit that was held on March 16, 2019 in Maribor, Slovenia. There were 29 presentations in the areas of contemporary dance, ballet, community dances, etc. on the theme Tradition and Contemporaneity in Dance Art and Education. Themes were addressed from anthropological, theoretical-analytical, educational and other perspectives.

 

Gala concert of the International Ballet Competition Slavenska 2018

Dr. Svebor Sečak directed the Gala concert of the International Ballet Competition Slavenska 2018 that took place on July 5, 2018 at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.
